What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

     So are you ready for the Trick and Treaters? Have you bought the little bars or bags of chips?  We don't get any little folk down our laneway but I always buy one of those boxes of tiny bars just in case. You know who winds up eating the chocolate.

Most welcome in the garden.  This pretty bloom has the unlikely name of Toad Lily. It made a very late appearance in the garden blooming in late September and was sustained because of the humidity of the first two weeks of October.

Sally at Crafts, Cavies and Cooking posted about things found on the floor in her house. Being a quilter it included threads. I have threads migrating all over the house too it seems. There are a couple of hall rugs that they particularly adhere to and fingers are the only things that can get them out. A nuisance.  It made me think of the time Hubby found one of my threads in the fish aquarium thus proving my threads really are everywhere.

I’ve had so much fun all month designing Halloween Gnomes. I know how much you love paper pieced gnomes, and so do I! After finishing 12 new Halloween blocks, I have put them into my latest quilt pattern.

I’m loving all of these Gnomes, but here are some of my favorites…

The SO FRANKEN CUTE GNOME has a tiny little spider made from a button with French Knot eyes. Adorps!

Welcome to Needle and Thread Thursday, friends!  If you guessed I was making a Halloween quilt from the strip sets I showed last week, you were right!  We are squarely in the dog days of summer around here.  It's the kind of heat and humidity where the air is thick and soupy and it feels like you're getting slowly braised every time you walk outside.  It's also the time of year where I start thinking/hoping/praying that we only have to hang on a little while longer before the temperatures will come down a little bit ...

This is such an easy pattern…using a striped fabric for Wanda The Witch’s hair makes it look like it has lots of texture. Wanda has such a beautiful wonky nose! Very witchy indeed!

My Goofy Witch has 2 sparkling teeth and a giant wart on her nose. Wouldn’t it be fun to make potholders from these two lovely witches? Which witch is which????
